Additional Information

The best way to have fun and be safe is to know your abilities. For our backcountry adventures, you must be a competent Black Diamond skier or snowboarder and be comfortable with a minimum of Blue Square level powder riding. Our terrain is wonderful for a curious backcountry adventure seeker with powder experience. None of our terrain is too extreme but get ready for some tree skiing!
Guide gratuities are not included in the purchase price of your tour. Your guide team is highly trained and specialized in their disciplines, often dedicating their life's work toward this endeavor. Your guide team operates in a service industry and gratuities are a common practice so long as you feel they’ve met and exceeded your expectations. Similar to other service industries, gratuities are typically between 15%-20%. The team pools the days tips between the entire day’s guide team. Your guides are able to receive cash, Venmo, and Zelle onsite.
Any skier younger than 15 years old requires prior approval and acknowledgment that no refunds are given for overstated ski-ability.

We encourage those with kids to book a private cat so we can go at your own pace based on the group’s ability and create lasting and memorable experiences! We have access for instructors to come along too.
We average 8 runs and 11,000 vertical feet of skiing and snowboarding each tour. Of course, this number is an average and depends on all the factors at play (such as group pace and the weather) during a day of adventuring in the backcountry. We have made as few as six runs to our furthest drop point and as many as 14 runs when our operating hours are extended towards the end of the season.
Before heading out to explore the backcountry, you’ll meet at the Activity Center, in the lower level of Humbird at 7:45am ready for a full day on the mountain.

Our guides will spend the first 45 minutes going over the day’s logistics and teaching you how to use your avalanche safety equipment.

After our safety briefing, it’s time for the good stuff. Our guests will depart from the village at 8:30am and head over to ride the Great Escape Quad. Be ready to hit your first backcountry run once you get to the summit! You’ll take your first run to the awaiting snowcat.
