Guided Cat Skiing
Just beyond the ski area boundary line lies 4,350 acres of untouched powder skiing bliss in the west bowl of Schweitzer Basin. Utilizing our PistenBully snowcat with heated 12-passenger cabins, Schweitzer Backcountry Adventures offers guided backcountry cat skiing and snowboarding to these untouched powder stashes. Enjoy a day full of mixed terrain offerings from tree skiing to open areas with up to 12 powder-loving skiers and riders. End your day at one of our many dining outlets in the village with your crew to rehash the days powder stashes and crashes!
Beginning date is December 26th (weather-permitting) and cost is $600 per person.

What is the minimum age to participate in cat skiing?
We encourage those with kids to book a private cat so we can go at your own pace based on the group’s ability and create lasting and memorable experiences! We have access for instructors to come along too.

What's included in the guided cat skiing tour?
Our guides will spend the first 45 minutes going over the day’s logistics and teaching you how to use your avalanche safety equipment.
After our safety briefing, it’s time for the good stuff. Our guests will depart from the village at 8:30am and head over to ride the Great Escape Quad. Be ready to hit your first backcountry run once you get to the summit! You’ll take your first run to the awaiting snowcat.
We average 8 runs and 11,000 vertical feet of skiing and snowboarding each tour. Of course, this number is an average and depends on all the factors at play (such as group pace and the weather) during a day of adventuring in the backcountry.
Lunch, light snacks, and water will be provided throughout the day.
