Steep hills. good people. and a lake.

We do things a little differently up here in North Idaho. While many of our chairlifts are “high-speed” we tend to enjoy life at a leisurely pace. Make no mistake, we are here for the skiing and riding. And maybe a few cold ones at the end of the day. We play hard and laugh even harder. We enjoy life at every turn, even the ones that send us flailing in a pile of powder. So if you’re new here, here’s your open invitation to our humble slice of paradise.

THE TERRAIN

With 300" of annual snowfall, Schweitzer's two bowls offer up a wintry mountain playground worth exploring. If you ask a local where they love to ski, you may not find the name on the trail map. While there are 92 named trails on the mountain, some of the best powder stashes and "send it" worthy features can be found in hidden zones found in the trees or past a certain feature. The best part about skiing at Schweitzer is that there's a groomed intermediate trail off of every lift, meaning groups with a variety of ability levels can choose their own adventure and meet back for another lap.

THE VIEWS

Schweitzer's views are some of the best in the area. Overlooking Idaho's largest lake, skiing and riding down Schweitzer Bowl offers the ultimate backdrop of Lake Pend Oreille. Looking for the best selfie spot? On a clear day, ride any of the frontside lifts and you've got it. If you head to the summit via the Lakeview Triple or Great Escape, soak in 360-degree views of neighboring mountain ranges in Montana, Washington, and Canada.

THE VILLAGE

Schweitzer's cozy ski-in, ski-out village has everything you need to round out your vacation. With 15 dining options, you're sure to find something to satisfy any palate. Ready to relax or recharge? Head to Cambium Spa for a treatment that keeps you fresh for another day on the slopes. For the latest Schweitzer logo-wear, swing by The Source or stop into any of the other local shops and pick out some new threads. From shopping, to dining, to spa, everything is just steps away in this pedestrian village.
