Welcome to Schweitzer's brand new employee housing complex, Schralpenhaus.
How do you say it? "Sh" - "Ralp" - "N" - "House"
But what does it mean? Schralp is essentially means to shred or rip. It can be done on your bike, skateboard, skis or snowboard. We do things a little differently here at Schweitzer, and Schralpenhaus is no different. We wanted to create a place that celebrates our community of shredders and rippers and brings the stoke from the mountain to town.

Location: The complex is located just 12 miles from Schweitzer in the city of Ponderay. Steps from Schralpenhaus, you'll find amenities like grocery stores, restaurants and a local brewery. Hop on the SPOT bus that can connect you directly to the mountain shuttle or to other places like downtown Sandpoint, where you can shop, dine and enjoy the beautiful Lake Pend Oreille.
Facility Features: Schralpenhaus is an 84-unit complex with a mix of one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and three-bedroom apartments. Amenities include off-street surface parking, and future plans include a courtyard with community BBQs, pavilion shelters, and a bike wash station. We are pet-friendly!

- One bathroom per bedroom
- Furnishings (beds, kitchen table and chairs, sofa)*
- Gear storage closet

Employee housing is reserved for full-time year-round and seasonal Schweitzer employees, working at least 30 hours per week. An application is required and can be found below.
