Northwest Winefest at Schweitzer Scheduled for July 20 & 21
5th Year of Event Brings 80 Different Wines to Sample
Summertime in North Idaho might inspire people to enjoy beers on a boat, but Schweitzer Mountain Resort knows that summer is also perfect for enjoying libations on the lawn. “There’s nothing like discovering some of the Pacific Northwest’s finest wines as live music accompanies you in your wine tasting journey,” says Dig Chrismer, Schweitzer’s marketing manager. “Our 5th Annual Northwest Winefest really is the perfect excuse to elevate your palate and learn some new notes for red, white and rosé.”
The event will take place overlooking Lake Pend Oreille with 20 different wineries, featuring 80 different wines, showcased in “Wine Alley.” The event will run from 12-7pm on Saturday and from 12-5pm on Sunday with wine tastings and souvenir glassware available for purchase at the main sales tent. Schweitzer has also lined up an impressive list of free live music to create a festive atmosphere during the event including Casey Ryan, The Copper Children, and Super Sparkle on Saturday then Letter B, followed by The Powers, on Sunday.
“You don’t have to take part in the tastings to enjoy the free live music, visit the arts & crafts vendors or indulge in some fantastic local flavors,” adds Chrismer. “Schweitzer’s daily summer activities, including the zip line, trampoline jumper, climbing wall and lift served downhill mountain biking, will be available from 11am on both Saturday and Sunday as well. All in all, it’s a great weekend for the whole family.”
