Schweitzer Mountain Resort Announces Management Changes & Promotions for 2018-19
Sandpoint, ID (Sept 25, 2018) – After 25 of years with Schweitzer Mountain Resort, Activities & Events Director, Mary Weber-Quinn, is retiring effective October 1, 2018. Weber-Quinn oversaw the development and growth of Schweitzer’s flagship events and was responsible for curating the family programming available at the resort during her tenure.
After Weber-Quinn’s departure, Schweitzer’s events department, managed by Andre Bircher, will report to the Sales & Marketing Director, Sean Mirus. With this change in structure, the resort has decided to deepen its focus on family based experiences and has appointed Dani Demmons as the resort’s first Director of Family Activities & Programs. Demmons has been with Schweitzer since 2006 serving as a snowboard instructor, ski school supervisor and most recently the resort’s Activities Manager. Promoted to the role of Activities Supervisor will be Annalise Courtright, who has worked seasonally for Schweitzer for 2 years.
Schweitzer is also proud to announce the promotion of several individuals working in Food & Beverage operations with Kellie Pierce Marshall becoming Hospitality Manager, responsible for all front of the house operations in the village and Jordan Hansen assuming the role as Executive Chef for Schweitzer. With Hansen’s promotion, Curtis Hathaway will take on the responsibilities of the Chef for Sky House. In the village, Jessica Roberts is Schweitzer’s new Taps Bar & Banquets Manager and Gary Lirette has been hired as Gourmandie Manager.
Schweitzer’s lodging department has also promoted Jess McAvoy from Front Desk Agent to Front Desk Manager and hired Marina Hill as the Owner Services Liaison.
Mary Chorzempa, Schweitzer’s accounting manager for the last 25 years retired in June 2018 with Jennifer Phillips assuming the Accounting Manager role this past summer.
Finally, the resort is also pleased to announce that Davey MacFarlane was promoted to Lift Maintenance Manager this summer after a nationwide search. MacFarlane has been with Schweitzer since 2014 and will be working closely with Rob Batchelder, Schweitzer’s Mountain Operations Director, with lift maintenance and development projects.
