Frequently Asked Questions

  • Where do I meet for the hike and how do I get there?

Meet outside the entrance of Sky House, which is located at the summit. You can either purchase a scenic lift ticket and ride the Great Escape chairlift, use your 2024/25 winter pass to get a free scenic lift ticket, or hike up the Nature Trail.

  • How hard is the hike?

Though this is a beginner hike and the trail is rated easy, please be aware that you are walking on the summit of a mountain and the terrain may not be suitable for everyone. You will be walking over rocks, uneven terrain, and are at a higher altitude.

  • Can my child do this hike?

This hike is great for people of all ages, especially families with young children.

  • Do I need to sign up in advance?

No, but you will need to sign a liability waiver for each person participating in the hike. Your guide will arrive to the Sky House by 1:00pm with forms available to complete.

  • How far is the hike? 

The trail is one mile long.

  • Are there restrooms? 

We recommend using the restrooms at the Sky House before joining the hike.

  • What should I bring and wear?

Bring water, snacks, sunscreen, and whatever else you need for an hour in the sun. We recommend wearing shoes with good ankle support, hats, sunglasses, and clothes to suit the weather. Please be advised weather can change quickly in the mountains, so make sure to adequately prepare for a variety of conditions.
